When I re-read books, I almost enjoy the books 2x more than I did the first time. Why?
I’m not the same person that I was when I first read the book. I have learned more about the world, my opinions may have changed, I may be in a different setting. Perhaps nearly every aspect of my life is different? Because I’m not the same, I notice ideas that did not stand out to me before during my first read. I re-discover the book!
If you haven’t re-read a book in a while, I encourage you to start. It’s an effective tool for seeing how you’ve changed. That’s not a bad thing.
